- St John's Day known in my district as Bonfire night. On that night all the young gather as much money as they can. They buy turf and gather sticks which they put at the cross-roads. The oldest man is to light the fire.
When the fire is kindled the dance begins. The local players come and make music for the dancers. Seats are got for the old people. The old people enjoy it very much.
You should have your turf cut before Bonfire night.May Day
