- There is a towland called Holywell, on the borders of Lough Gill. It takes its name from a holy well that is there.
There is a tradition in the parish that St. Patrick blessed this well on his journey through the parish of Calry.
There is an underground passage leading from this well. It is about 1/2 mile in length. It is about two feet high and is flagged overhead and underneath.
Many years ago a number of pikes, spear heads and flint hammers were discovered there.
