- In Mary Connolys field in the Goldrappers is a lone ash tree. It is surrounded with briars. It stands middle-ways between two wells.
One of the Connolys was going to cut it down when he heard a voice coming from the tree. It said "leave the shelter there." The man was frightened but he took the hint and left the tree there. the track of the saw is still to be seen in the timber.- Collector
