- There are many different kinds of birds in my district. The robin, thrush and black bird are the most common.
The thrush is a fairly large bird she builds her nest in a hedge. She lays blue eggs with white spots. During a storm she never stops singing from it starts until it finishes.
The black bird usually builds her nest in a thick hedge and lays a white egg with blue spots. When the black birds come near the house in search of food it is the sign of snow is on the ground the children make birds cradle from boortree and sallys. There is a little piece of stick holding up the cradle and when the bird hops on the stick to lift the crums of bread which is left there, the cradle falls and the bird is held inside.
The robin builds her nest in a mossy bank. She lays small white eggs with brown spots. If a robin flies(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
