- One day we noticed that in our farm-yard the turkey and the turkey-cock kept continually picking at a hen's head. In the evening we found the hen dead and we thought them very cruel. Afterwards we found out from our neighbour that if the turkey had not killed the hen all the other hens would die with the disease.
