- Storyyears ago a woman died in this parish and in the night there was a wake.
The poor woman was crippled with rheumatic and when she died her limbs when stiff would not lied flat on the bed. In order to keep the corpse in a lying posture, the people of the house tied it with ropes to the bed.
A big crowd gathered, and in the course of the night, a mischievous boy stole under the bed and cut the ropes.
Immediately, on being release, the corpse jumped up suddenly to a sitting posture.
The crowd, present, thought the dead woman had come to life and they fled, screaming helter, shelter away from the house. There was not a person left in the corpsehouse and after much persuasion the crowd returned and spent the night at the wake.- Bailitheoir
