Batt Healy who lived in the townland of Gleann, Riverstown Co. Sligo used to make ropes out of rushes. He used to oull rushes, and tie them in bundles. He then used to bettle them and leave them to season for a few days. he used to twist them then and afterwards plait them.
The rop rope was caled a "stoidheach."Cut-nail and Jack making.
James and John Conlon of Gleann, Riverstown, Co Sligo used to make tacks and cut nails out of rod iron. They used to sell them at two pence a dozen.Barrel and Tub making.
Tom Lang of Lavally, Ballintogher, used to make them out of oak timber.
