- On our farm there are a number of fields having names. There are four fields and the names of them are, "The Wheat Field" "The Bottom Field" "The sand-pit Field" and the "Carrigeen". The "Wheat Field" is so called because there used to be wheat grown in it long ago. It is situated out near John Lyons's land. "The Bottom" is so called because it is all holes and part of the land is very bad. Part of it is covered with water and the other part near the house is good, because there is hay raised on it every year.
The" Sandpit Field" is so called because there is a big sand-pit in it, in which a lot of sand can be got. It is situated in the middle of the farm. The other field that is outside the haggart gate is called the "Carrigeen". It is a small field situated on the height of the sand-pit. We have another garden that is situated on the side of the road. The hay, the oats and the rick of turf are kept in it, every year, and it is called the haggart. On our farm at home there are only two fields with names "Thurlac" and the "little meadow". The(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
