- Severe WeatherThe last big storm was about ten years ago, and it lasted for three or four days and it did alot of damage to houses and to stock. The last big snowfall was about twenty five years ago and it was three and a half feet deep or more. Their was a snow-fall not long ago, and there was a person dead in Scartaglin and the people had to clear the road with shovels to bury the person. There was a flood not long ago and it broke into the creamery and it broke out in the road. This year there were three or four sailors drowned by the storm. In the year 1908 there was a great storm it swept a shed and timber which belonged to John Galvin and placed it on a field called paírc a bhannch and dug it two feet into the soil.
