- Cures
There are cures in use locally which were handed down to us from our forefathers. Some of these were effective but others were only superstitious.
Some of these are "Snaimdh na Péiste" this was made with a cord made into a form of a serpent and the person struck the cow so many times on the back and after that the animal was sure to live.
If the skull of an animal a horse or cow was placed under the flagstone of the fire, or in the side of the chimney the cattle would never be subject to disease.
A third one is if a cow swallowed a worm the sod which the worm came from should be(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
