- A man in Derryreague named Lucey used take the contract of repairing the road between Loo Bridge and Poll Gorm Bridge. They took the gravel at the island of Dromavraka. The gravel was brought down by the Clydagh river and left in Pollín. One day sometime after the Clydagh flood Lucey was filling his jennet butt with gravel at Pollín when he discovered a boot under the gravel. He examined it as it was a good one and found a purse of gold inside in it. This was the money of Lucey who was drowned in the Clydagh flood and was brought down to Pollín by the flood. Lucey was known afterwards as Lucey Boots and his descendants are now locally known as the Boots and are numerous in the southern part of Glenflesk. They are all comfortably situated owing to the money found in the boot. The owner of the money was not related to Lucey Boot. Darby Donoghue Rusheenbeg Age 12 yrs
