   May see a southern shore
   And gaze upon the bright glacier
   " hear the Cascade roar
   But if he loved his own old land
   Afar he would not go
   We have many a scene to gladen
   Like the lake of Ballyhoe.

   And ye that sicken where the hum of ceaceless traffic rolls
   Where natures freshness never leaves
   Its tinge upon your soul
   Your weary world is dark and dull
   Your lives are sad and slow
   A pleasant toil t'were bliss beside
   The lake of Ballyhoe.
