- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)and three times a week. In the winter time. In the winter time the churn once a week.
The people do the churning themselves. It takes about one hour to churn the milk. While churning they put hot water in order to keep the milk warm. When the milk is churned they shake it. Then the butter gathers in lumps. They gather the butter with a strainer.
Long ago the people believed in superstitions, but at the present time they don’t believe in them. On May morning they tied a rowan stick to the tail of the cow. If anyone came and they churning, they had to churn for a while. If they did not the people said that there would be no butter on the milk.- Bailitheoir
