- About 300 years ago there was no main road between Monaghan and Castleblayney. At the presnte day we have two roads which run parallel to each other, from Blayney to Monaghan - one is called the Annayalla-Monaghan road, and the other the Lackagh-Monaghan Road - [?] it is now termed the old road. Before this road was made, and before the stage=coach came this way, there was a highway and bye-way, which was maining along the tops of the hills. This pathway led from the present St Louis Convent , Monaghan out by the late D. Carolan 'Rushes', past the Corby [?] Rock, through the hills of Tullycorbett into Billeady, across Drumgriston and Billeady Hills on to Corlelackagh hill, past(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
