- On the land of Terry Murphy Lisnagrieve parish of Clontibret, Barony of Cremorne, Co. Monaghan about three miles from Castleblayney there is a Lis or fort.
It consists of two round mounds of earth and in the centre there is a cave. The outside ring is about four feet in height and it is built of earth and stones. The inner ring is broken in many places and seems to have been about three feet in height. The mouth of the cave is narrow but it gets wider as it goes on. It was from this Lis that Lisnagrieve got its name. Strange to say nobody seems to know anything about this particular place.- Bailitheoir
