Ar an leathanach seo

  1. In olden times the people only had three meals a day, breakfast, dinner and supper. For breakfast they had horehound tea and boxty bread as the old rhyme has it:
    "Boxty bread and horehound tea,
    That's what they eat in Corlatt and Corlea".
    For dinner they had potatoes buttermilk salt and garlic and for supper they had oaten porridge or stirabout.
    Potatoes were usually eaten at every meal. The people sat around the table in the centre of the floor. In some houses the table was against the wall and could be hung up when not in use.
    Meat was a luxury but fish was eaten very often especially in this district where the lakes are numerous. The Supper was eaten as soon as they days work was done.
