    There is a rath in my home district - Wildfield, Ballyfoyle. It is situated in Mr. John Ryan's field, in Clorinka. If you went up on the rath you could see Brennan's rath in Clopook. The former is circular in shape, and is surrounded by a fence of furze, and also by trees. There is a hole in the middle of the rath. This hole is about eight feet deep. No one ever went down in the hole because people are afraid to do so. The Danes are supposed to have built these raths.
    Mr. John Ryan of Clorinka, saw a fairy woman picking sticks out-side the rath. Mr. Michael Coogan of Clorinka, was working at John Ryan's one day and when he was going home, he saw a spirit walking up and down the side of the rath. It had the appearance of a big black man. Fairies are supposed to live in the rath. Mr. Brian Condren of Uskerty, was going to the creamery one day and as he was passing the rath a big white cat ran out of it. He put the dog after the cat and the cat frightened the dog to such and extent that he ran away whining and
