I will go up for you!"
When the little red hen heard this she came down. Then the fox put her in his bag and carried her away. He left her outside a stile and ran home. The mouse and the louse were watching. They saw the fox leaving down his bag, and they ran to the place where he left it. They took out the little red hen, put two stones in the bag, sewed it up again, and then ran home.
When the fox went home his mother was waiting for him.
"Now mother" said he, "I am going up to the roof of the house to let down the hen."
So he went up and let her down the chimney. the stones broke the pot, spilled the water, and quenched the fire.
His mother was in a terrible rage. She met him at the door, and broke his back with the brush.
