- There used to be a football match in Kennedy's field in Rathbeaagh a long time ago. There were fifteen men on each side. The team that won would get a prize. The players were dressed in this way. They had football boots and thin clothes. The referee had a whistle and when any one would foul he would give a free kick to the other team. It was a big leather ball they had. It was parish who played against parish.
