The follow though not Béaloideas is, I think worth recording. It is a copy from the original letter written by Daniel O' Connell ninety-six years ago to publishers in London.

    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
Some Remarks on the foregoing letter:
The donor of the original letter Teresa Booker, The Retreat, Kennington Road, Clapton N.E. 5.
stated, "It is nearly 100 years old. Mr Booker mentioned in the address was my husband's Father and Dolman his Father's Cousin. They were in partnership."
There were no envelopes and the letter was folded and sealed showing only the Address.
The handwriting was large and firm with good black ink very little faded after 96 years. The writing was difficult to make out in places.
Whe a word was divided it was connected with a double hyphen as "delight=ful" in the letter.
When two "ss" came together in a word the first s was always written different as "dissatisfied" in his letter.
There were no full stops -, no commas and notes of exclamation and lines for emphasis were used as shown in the letter.
The "t" was very seldom crossed and i was not dotted. The paragraphs were as written in this Copy.
From the post marks as shown in the Copy of the address it will be noticed that the letter was posted in Cork on November 11th - arrived in Waterford on Nov. 12 and in London on November 14.
