- Molahiffe is a village situated in the centre of Kerry. It got its name form the plains of the Laffis, a sept of the McCarthy Mores who lived there long ago.
There is a castle in Molahiffe and it is supposed to be connected with Firies Castle and a Castle that was in Clounmellane by an underground passage. These passages were used by the people in olden times when they wanted to hide from the invaders.
At one time there was a lot of houses in Molahiffe, but now they are all knocked down. There is a beautiful modern Church in Molahiffe. - What gets boots and never wears them
