- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)there was a man dying and to go and anoint him. After following his guide along distance he came into a thick wood. The man then told him to go straight, that he would find the house quite easily. The priest continued his way. Suddenly something urged him to turn around and the man was about to spring on him.
He made the sign of the cross and the attacker vanished. He went along and after a while he reached the house in time to save the man's soul. It was believed that the strange guide was the devil or one of his agents who had endeavoured to put the priest out of the way and the man who came to the priest was thought to be a messenger of God. The dying man always prayed for a happy death.
