- In olden times people made use of various cures to cure the diseases of man and beast. The various cures used for children having developed measles were
1. To put the child to bed and to give hot drinks of milk and water.
2. To boil sheep's droppings and to drink the juice through milk.
Cures for Whooping Cough were as follows;
1. To drink mouse's soup.
2. To go beyond the bounds of your own parish.
3. To drink donkey's milk.
