- Lough Patrick (Co. Derry).
Lough Patrick is a small lake in the County of Derry. It is about half a mile in circumference. No one knows how it came there or why it never runs dry for there is no river to bring any water to or from it. One legend is that St. Patrick was one day riding by the spot where the lake now stands and having no water for his horse, he pulled up a bush and immediately a spring of water gushed out to form the lake which we call Lough Patrick. It is supposed to possess a cure and every year at a certain time hundreds of people come to partake of its waters.
