    Mrs. Behan is seventy-five, Mrs. Boland is seventy-two, and Mr. Boland is seventy-three. There are not so many people in Derrymullen as there were long ago. There are some fields down in Derrymullen where there were houses long ago and the people are left them now. One of these fields is called "The Old House". The soil is boggy and people say that is one reason why the people are leaving the place. Another reason is that there is no road running into the place and in winter it is very hard to get into it at all.
