    houses had to go out and seek food in some place or another. There are some ruins of old houses which fell during the famine in some parts of the country. During the first year of the famine some of the potatoes failed but the next year the people set the same seed and all the crop failed that year and the people had no food. Besides the potatoes the people had some wheat and they had to sell it to pay the rent. During the famine the people would dig holes and put the potatoes down in them.
