- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)fair for sheep, cattle and horses, but in these small towns, they are all sold together, on the same day, but there is a special day for the pigs, every first Friday in Ballinloug, and Tuesday in Ballyhaunis. Cattle are usually sold in a large field, called a fair green, but in Ballinlough, they are sold on the street, which is great annoyance to the shopkeepers, fearing that they might, do some harm to the shop or break the windows.
When a man is preparing to go to a fair, he first feeds his cattle. Then he sets out for the fair. If he has a flock of cattle, he drives them, all together, but if he has only one, he puts a halter on her. When he reaches the fair, a buyer comes(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
