A number of years ago an old witch that was called "Jenny of the Hills", lived on one of the Cregga hills in the parish of Kiltrustan in the Co. Roscommon. Now this old witch wore an apron which she never took off and in that apron there was a charm.
In the village of Lisduff beside Cregga there was a man named Jim Connell who had a sick cow. He went to the Vet but it was no good. The cow was nearly dead and some body told him to go to Jenny. So Jim set off with a heavy heart and told Jenny about the cow. As soon as he had finished she got a bottle and went to a rock that was beside her hut where there was a well that everybody was forbidden to drink out of. She filled the bottle out of the well and brought it back to her hut. She wiped the bottle in her apron three times and gave it to Jim saying words that nobody could understand. She told Jim to give three drops of the water to the cow three times and to sprinkle the rest in the barn where the sick cow was.
