    For the cure of kidney-disease an herb which the old people called "the mouse's lug" was pulled and boiled in water. The water was then strained off and allowed to cool. This liquid was drunk and was supposed to cure all kidney trouble.
    For the cure of warts on the hands the rubbing of the ordinary black snail on the wart was supposed to have the effect of making the wart fall off within a few days.
