- in a neighbouring village called Knockhouse, there is an old cave, at the back of a farmer's residence, in a solid green field. All the village people gathered together, and sarted to dig where they thought the cave lay. They dug out a lot of earth, until they came to a rank of steps which looked like steps of stairs. One of the men went down into the cave, carrying a lighted candle in his hand. When he had gone down a little distance, the fowl airs put out the candle and he had to return. Then the goverment ordered it to be closed. The people close it in again and they did not find out how far the cave ran. This work was done on the quite at night, because the goverment would not allow such places to be opened. Many old coins were found when(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
