    chiefly from neglect, by suffering them to stand with their legs wet and dirty, and not rubbing the feet and fetlocks: the following remedy has been used with success in removing this complaint, and also as a slave for sheeps feet.
    ½ lb. of hogs lard,
    ½ lb. of honey,
    ¼ lb. of Venice turpentine,
    ½ lb. of train oil,
    1 lb. of rouch allum,
    1 oz. of bol. ammoniac,
    Mix them all together over a slow fire, stirring them for a half an hour.
    Mules are often used, and may be purchased at fairs in this county, and in Wexford at a reasonable price.
    Cattle - The common cattle of this district, are a mixture of the Irish breed, with some of the long horned English. A few may be seen of the ancient native stock.
