Ar an leathanach seo

The thin rod of iron was put in the fire, reddened, taken out struck on the anvil & shaped. Then that bit was cut off & the iron put back in the fire and the same thing done again Charlie generally put the made nails into water to cool. Often he put the iron back a couple of times before the nail was finished.
All the people round at one time bought their nails from Doyles. They were ordered by sizes. The different sizes were distinguished thus "Twelve penny Nine penny' 'six penny' & so on for nails in general use. They also made boot nails which were called 'hob nails'
