    Páid Doolan Cappa accompanied by Pat Aylward Pleberstown and some others went to Dysart Castle one night. About midnight they had dug so far down that they saw a long slab of stone. This they were certain was where the hidden treasure lay buried. They were attempting to lift the slab, when an unearthly scream filled the place all about them. They fled in terror for their lives not caring in which direction they ran. Some were found in an exhausted condition the following morning. They did not take time to refill the hole they had excavated and the dead cock was seen there the next morning. They had prefilled to the letter the story that blood should be spilled before the
