- In olden times there were few shops in the village. Most of the people went to town to purchase their goods. Those who lived far away got most of their goods after Mass, and it is still practised. Some people used to bring pairs of chickens to the people for their goods. When the people went into a shop for anything and if they had not the money they got it on tick. They would pay for it some other time. But very few would ask for anything without the money in olden times. A big fair used to take place four times a year.
