    There are many stories told about one particular field in my fathers farm and even to this day those old stories live on and will live in from the lips of our forefathers to the lips of our successors.
    This field has a very strange appearance, For in the time of the Penal days we are told that monks inhabited it and there remains the certainty that this great monastery once existed.
    The Abbot of the monastery was called Molua, he was a very holy man who afterwards became a Saint and from his name the townsland if Killaloe meaning "Church of St Molua" was named.
    Many strange incidents are told about St Molua and one in particular which I shall relate.
    It happened that one day a man was working in a field near a well, when after a while he got thirsty and said he would go to the well to
