    carried out now a days. For the past few summers I have seen it done in my home. After the cows have been milked in the morning and evenings the milk is brought to the dairy and strained and put into the seperater. The cream comes out in one pipe and the milk comes out another pipe at the opposite side. This has to be done morning and evening until we have sufficent cream together to give us our weeks butter supply. The cream is then put into the churn which has beaters inside that turn as you twist a handle that is fixed on the outside. After about thirty minutes churning the cream comes into butter. Then the butter has to be taken out of the churn and placed in a large pan. It has to get serveral washings with spring water until it is clear of all the butter milds milk. It is then salted and made up into one pounds or two pounds rolls. There are wooden patties used for the purpose of making up and washing the butter so
