- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)bred and very vicious thus causing great excitement among the youths of the village when they came to have shoes put on. They had to be knotted up with ropes and knocked before anyone could go near them. one of them was known to drive the anvil right off the block with a kick.
During the pegging top season the youngsters used to get all the spears made for their tops by this smith, each spear was paid for by two eggs as necessarily the hens nests were often raided.
This forge was a source of great entertainment to the village as most of the people at that time brought their work in the evening there and many a the tales that were told to the sound of the anvil.- Bailitheoir
