    The people sought remedies for certain ailments in the following ways.
    When anyone had a sty the woman of the house made the sign of the cross on the sore eye with her ring.
    If a person had a sore throat the cure was to gargle it with salt and water.
    To prick a bile with a thorn was believed to cure it. When a person has indigestion the cure was to drink the milk out of the dandelion.
    To dip your finger which has a whitle on it in hot water was supposed to cure it.
    The water of the well of Saint Columkille is said to cure
