    was often on the table. At the end of the fishing season the men smoaked the fish and this preserved it for the months coming. Cabbage and Potatoes often formed part of the dite at dinner.
    Certain customs were conected with St. Martins day. A pair of fowl were killed and the blood was sprinkled on the door-step. Before cups became common wooden mugs were used.
