- About December 3rd 1937 Mr Samuel who lived in the townland of Drollagh had his lorry at Mr Christopher Agnew's sand pit to fill it with sand. While filling his lorry he thought to dig underneath to get some good sand. He told his fellow workman Sammy Clerkin to get into the lorry, and he would shovel the sand into the lorry. Clerkin picked up his shovel and stepped up on the lorry but on looking round could not see Armstrong. He noticed that a heap of sand had fallen, and knew then that Armstrong must be under it. He ran for help but it was not until 1 1/2 hrs later that Armstrong was dug out. He was dead and the Rev Mr. Whitehead rector of Killeeran brought the sad news to Mrs Armstrong who(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
