    The potatoes are sprayed, moulded, and kept free from weeds during the summer. They are dug in the autumn with the spade, the plough or the potato digger. They are gathered into baskets, put in pits in the ground and covered with clay.
    Kerr's Pinks, Irish Queens, Champions, Victor Blues, Main Crop, Epicures, Whites, Dates ?? are some of the common varieties.
