- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)One night about 18 years ago two of my uncles were going to a fair in the town of Claremorris, Co. Mayo. When people in the West & South of Ireland are going to fairs a long distance from their homes they generally go by night, so as to be in plenty of time. On this particular night my uncles walked slowly along the toad. It was quite bright, for the moon had appeared from behind the clouds. Suddenly one of the uncles turned around and saw the head-lights of a motor-car coming towards them. They stepped aside to allow the vehicle to pass, but it disappeared mysteriously, and they saw nothing more. They were agreeably surprised but they continued their journey, even though they trembled when they realized what had transpired.During a holiday in Co. Mayo in 1908 I saw and was speaking to a man whoe's Great Grandmother saw the wonderful apprition at Knock some years ago.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
