- Wild birds are very numerous in this district.
Swallows, crows, blackbirds, robins, larks, wrens, thrushes, and cuckoos are to be seen.
There are only two birds that migrate, they are the cuckoo which goes to Africa, and the swallow which goes to Egypt.
Some birds build their nests on the tops of highest trees they can find. Others build their nests under house-eaves or in sceac bushes. The swallow makes its nest out of mud, straw, and little stones. The mud makes the nest stick to the wall or any slippy place where she builds.
The robins eggs are brown in colour, swallows eggs are white while the thrushes and the blackbirds eggs are green in colour.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
