The River Barrow runs at the end of the townland of Clonduff. Years ago, this River used to overflow its banks and destroy the land adjoining it. Then, it was cleaned by means of a dredger.
The Barrow House was one of the chief seats in the old parish of Rearymore. Years ago it was occupied by a family named Bell, originally planted there by the landlord Coote, Earl of Mountrath. This family of Bell became extinct. The house then became the property of Mr. William Odlum, who in 1920 sold the house and lands to the people of Clonduff.- Bailitheoir
