  1. The hotel is the largest business place in the village. Years ago it was occupied by people named Walshes who carried on a extensive hotel and hackney business. The next largest place is Hande Brothers. It was formerly occupied by Mrs Byrne who carried on a extensive drapery and grocery, provision and hard ware business. The thirst largest business is owned by Miss Phelan formerly occupied by Mrs Walsh who owned the hotel. She has a licensed house and a boarding house. The fourth largest premises is owned by John Maher formerly belonging to Mr Jacksman who carried on drapery, grocery, hard ware and a undertaking establishment. The fifth business premises is belonging to Mr James Drury formerly occupied by his grandfather Mr Lalor who carried on a licensed business. The next largest premises is owned by Mr Patrick Buggy.
