- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)were hung against the wall.Oaten bread and barley bread were eaten. Oaten meal and some flour were mixed and milk or water added. Potato cakes were also used these were made from peeled potatoes and flour mixed together. All cakes were baked on a griddle. Meat was seldom eaten. Both salt and fresh meat were used. Bacon or beef or veal were the meats used. Fish was eaten and also vegetables. People did not eat late at night. Special kinds of food were eaten at certain times for example The eating of barm-brack on Christmas Day. At Halloween they are barm-brack with a ring in it and fruit. Also "calcannon" was also eaten at Halloween.I cannot find when tea was first used in this district.Goblets were used before cups.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
