    called Kilronan, he heard a great crowd of people walking after him. He had some meat with him which he bought in the town, and these people followed him, and beat him until he lost the meat. Then these people, or fairies as they are supposed to be, disappeared out of his sight. Paddy looked all around the place for the meat but could not find it so he had to go home that night without it. He went down the next morning to the bridge and found the meat on the side of the road, all trampled over and dirty. Paddy would not bring home the meat at all then, so he left it there.
