- (continued from previous page)At last he said that this fairy stuff was all nonsense and that he would cut it down himself. he went out with an axe and proceeded to cut it. Just when it was falling a splint from it caught him in the eye. the result was that he had to spend six weeks in hospital. When the house built it did not look near as nice as they thought it would be. There is hardly a day since but himself or his wife or child is sick. It is said that the fairies were vexed with him for interfering with their fairy bush and it in that way they revenged their insult.
