    dinner. They ate home made bread and milk or cocoa for their supper. If there were a good many people in a house the table was put out in the centre of the floor and if there were only a few it was left near the wall.
    Oat meal bread was generally eaten and boxty bread was, also, eaten. The oat meal was put into water fro some time. Then the water was drained from the oat meal. Some flour and salt water were mixed with meal and then it was put on a sort of a tin before the fire and it was left there for half an hour. When it was baked it was left on a board to cool.
    Very few people used meat in olden times. But, fish was generally eaten. Most of the old people ate early in the evening. Enamel cups and mugs and plates were used before cups became common
