  1. There are names on many of the fields in my district. most of them got their names from a river that runs beside the field, the shape of the field or something that happened in the field.

    Liosan is a field which belongs to Paddy Barlow. This field is in the townland of Killavacken. There is no fort in this field but not long ago when the owner of the field was ploughing he came to a road passing through the middle of the field. It is believed that this road was once a Mass path.

    The Kiln field is a field which belongs to Hubert Farrell. There was once a lime kiln in this field.

    Páirc Bhán - or the white field which belongs to Michael Mullooly got its name because of all the white gesse -geese? that were in this field long ago.

    Siocan Dubh is a well which is in Michael Corcorans field. There is a cure
